On August 5, Irek Gayazovich Gatins, a veteran of the forestry industry, turned 90 years old. The Head of the district, Nail Albertovich Vazyhov, came to congratulate him. Irek Gayazovich was born on August 5, 1936. He remembers how, in his childhood during the war years, he had to go hungry and freeze, eating goosefoot and nettles, and wearing bast shoes. After graduating from the Lubyanka Forestry College, he began working at the Tetyushsky Forestry in 1956. He then dedicated 42 years to the Klyarinsky Forestry. After the construction of the hydroelectric power station and the creation of the Kuybyshev Reservoir, land was allocated to strengthen the banks of the Volga. At that time, the banks and Mount Lobach were barren, without forests. In 1956, they began planting trees. The plantings continued for 20 years. "Our district has become beautiful, surrounded by forests, songs are sung about the beauty of our places. The residents of the district have changed its appearance," recalls Irek Gayazovich. For his work, the veteran was awarded the badge of distinction from the Ministry of Forestry of the RSFSR "For Merits in the Preservation and Increase of Forests" and received the title of Labor Veteran.
"My life has been happy. I lived with my wife Ramziya for 65 years in harmony and love. We raised three children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren," shares Irek Gayazovich.
