A drunk driver attacked a police officer after a car accident: a resident of Zelenodolsk has been charged.

      In the Republic of Tatarstan, a 36-year-old resident of Zelenodolsk has been charged under part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a representative of authority). The charge was brought by the investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan. According to the case materials, on August 3, 2026, the man, while driving under the influence of alcohol, lost control and caused a traffic accident. After the police arrived at the scene, the accused was escorted to a service vehicle, where he exhibited aggression and used violence against one of the representatives of authority. The man's actions were promptly suppressed by the police. Currently, the investigation is conducting a series of activities aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident, as well as gathering and securing the evidence base.
