Tatarstan will receive 475.3 million rubles for the improvement of five areas.
Five projects from Tatarstan won the All-Russian competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment. The republic will receive 475.3 million rubles in federal funds for their implementation, reported the Institute for the Development of Cities of Tatarstan. New public spaces will appear in Nizhnekamsk, Leninogorsk, Bugulma, Apastovo, and Bilyarsk in 2027-2028. The largest grant of 112.8 million rubles was awarded to Nizhnekamsk. The funds will be directed to the renovation of the "Neftekhimikov" park. New children's playgrounds, a pavilion with an amphitheater, a dog walking area, rest areas, additional lighting, and landscaping will be created here. Bugulma will receive 104.7 million rubles for the improvement of the Children's Park. It is planned to create an event zone with a stage, modern children's playgrounds, a workout area, and new walking routes. Another 104.7 million rubles will be allocated to Leninogorsk for the improvement of the area between Kropuskaya, Leningradskaya, Shashina, and Kutuzova streets. An event square, an extreme sports area with a climbing wall, creative and educational sites, sensory and apple orchards will be established there. This application was submitted by the city in 2025, but it did not win at that time. The project was revised for the new competition. Apastovo will receive 80.6 million rubles for the renovation of the central park and adjacent areas. The park will feature a "tea square" with a pavilion and fountain, an event area, zones for children and teenagers, a running route, and a streetball court. A total of 72.5 million rubles will be allocated for the improvement of the historical center of Bilyarsk. The project includes a new pedestrian promenade, renovation of the square with a fountain, improvement of the area along the Bilyarka River, sports grounds, lighting, and landscaping. Tatarstan submitted 12 applications to the competition, five of which became winners. The results of the competition were announced on August 10 in Moscow at the XI All-Russian Forum "Development of Small Towns and Historical Settlements." Since 2018, the republic has attracted 4.4 billion rubles through the competition for the development of 60 public spaces in 24 settlements. Tatarstan remains one of the leaders in Russia in the number of winning applications: from 2018 to 2026, there were 57. The Moscow region also had 57 wins, Nizhny Novgorod had 52, and Sverdlovsk had 45.
