Doctors from the Republican Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan performed a "5 in 1" surgery on a 45-year-old patient: they removed the appendix, a gallbladder polyp, cysts, and repaired a hernia in just 1.5 hours. The woman was admitted to the hospital with acute abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and a high fever. The diagnosis was chronic appendicitis. However, during examinations, surgeons found four more issues: a gallbladder polyp, ovarian and liver cysts, as well as a postoperative hernia. Head of the department Lenar Ziganshin and surgeon Iskander Mardanov suggested that the patient address all issues in one operation through mini-incisions.
