      Throughout July, the Zainsk Children's Art School hosted the district stage of the republican children's art festival "My Dad is a Hero." Five young residents of the city, under the guidance of talented teachers, created portraits of their fathers participating in a special military operation. Each child poured a piece of their soul into the drawing, trying to convey not just the appearance but the warmth and strength of spirit of their fathers in the portraits. The project involved children aged 7 to 17. Classes took place within the walls of the Children's Art School, where teachers helped the kids master various painting techniques, using special author video lessons provided by the festival organizers.       Heroes through the eyes of children

      "Our school, together with the education department, identified five children whose fathers are participants in the special military operation and who wished to take part in the project. Two teachers, professional artists - Vasilieva Venera Nikolaevna and Dmitrieva Elena Nikolaevna, supported the initiative. They were inspired by the materials sent and managed to create worthy works together with the kids. The children happily painted portraits of their fathers," said the director of the Zainsk Children's Art School, Elmira Vdovina. It should be noted that the republican festival "My Dad is a Hero" is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan regional branch of the United Russia party, the "Movement of the First" and the regional branch of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund.       Exhibition of the best works to open in September

      Based on the results of the district stages, the organizing committee will select 50 best and most touching works for the central exhibition. The grand opening of the exhibition is scheduled for the first decade of September 2026 at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan. Families of defenders, veterans, and honored guests are invited to the event.

      The festival "My Dad is a Hero" is positioned as a large-scale socio-cultural initiative aimed at uniting patriotic, cultural, and socially significant components. The project creates a space for sincere empathy, public recognition of the feats of participants in the special military operation, and targeted attention to their families, strengthening the connection between generations.
