      The authorities of Bashkiria intend to continue the privatization of the republican stake in Bashneft. This was announced by the head of the region, Radiy Khabirov, at a meeting with media editors of the republic. He named Rosneft as the potential buyer of the remaining stake, according to RBC. Khabirov stated that the republic has already sold part of its shares in Bashneft and plans to further sell another portion of the package. According to him, this decision is related to a lack of funds: the region cannot borrow money on the market due to existing restrictions. The head of Bashkiria noted that the funds from the first deal allowed fulfilling a number of obligations in 2026 and starting work on several projects. In early June, it became known about the sale of a "small" package of Bashneft shares with a buyback option. The buyer was Rosneft. Later, the Ministry of Finance of Bashkiria reported that the transaction amounted to 14.8 billion rubles. The regional government stated that the shares were sold with the consent of the country's leadership to direct part of the received funds towards achieving a common victory. In December 2025, the Ministry of Land and Property of Bashkiria prepared a draft amendment to the privatization plan for state property for 2026-2028. It was proposed to include 11.3 million shares of Bashneft, or 6.36% of the company's authorized capital. This corresponded to a quarter of the stake owned by the republic.

      At that time, Bashkiria owned 25% plus one share of Bashneft – 44.4 million shares. The final privatization plan did not include part of the company's shares. Bashneft's revenue under IFRS for 2025 amounted to 1 trillion rubles, which is 12.3% less than the figure a year earlier. The company's net profit decreased by 53% – to 49.2 billion rubles.
