       Specialists from the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan performed a complex endoscopic surgery and saved the life of a one-year-old child who swallowed a small battery that posed a deadly threat.

       Doctors from the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan performed a complex and precision-demanding endoscopic surgery on Friday, August 7, which saved the life of a one-year-old child who swallowed a small but deadly battery, reports "Tatar-inform". According to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, Almir Abashev, a combined multidisciplinary team, including experienced endoscopists, specialists from surgical department number 2, and otorhinolaryngologists, gathered in the operating room. During the complex and delicate procedure, the medical team successfully extracted the lodged foreign object from the child's esophagus using a special flexible endoscope, without external incisions, and urgently stabilized the child's condition. However, examinations showed that at the site where the battery had been in contact with the mucous membrane for an extended period, a deep and painful wound had already formed, provoked by an electrochemical burn from the discharge of the element. The child is currently under round-the-clock medical supervision, and necessary anti-inflammatory and healing therapy has been initiated. Almir Abashev urged parents to be vigilant and keep all small items in places completely inaccessible to young children. A few days ago, it was reported that a new resident had appeared at the Kazan Zoo-Botanical Garden "Zambezi River," who has already attracted visitors' attention with his phlegmatic and friendly nature. As reported on Monday, August 4, by the official portal of Kazan, a four-year-old male capybara named Pasha was delivered from the Nizhny Novgorod Zoo "Limpopo."
