The average retail price of one liter of automotive gasoline in the Republic of Tatarstan as of August 3 showed the first decrease of the entire summer, giving motorists a small respite after months of rising prices.
As reported on Friday, August 7, by Rosstat, the price of a liter of fuel in the region decreased by almost two percent, amounting to seventy-one and five-tenths rubles. In absolute terms, the decrease was 1.4 rubles. This was reported by RBC. Prices for the most popular brands were particularly noticeable in their downward adjustment: gasoline AI-92 decreased by almost 1.2 rubles over the week, while AI-95 fell in price by 1.7 rubles. At the same time, high-octane gasoline of the AI-98 brand and above continued to rise, adding ninety-two kopecks and reaching 99.4 rubles. Diesel fuel also increased slightly in price. Tatarstan's prices remain below the national average and those in the Volga Federal District. It is worth noting that in mid-July, there was a surge in demand for fuel in the republic, with queues at gas stations, and by the order of the head of the Republic, a special headquarters was created to take control of the situation. Authorities stated that fuel reserves are available and deliveries are on schedule. Analysts note that since the beginning of summer, gasoline in the republic has already increased by 8 rubles, or 12 percent. About a week ago, it was reported that as of July 27, the Republic of Tatarstan recorded the lowest weekly increase in automotive fuel prices in the last two months. According to analysts from RBC, referring to operational data from Rosstat, the average retail price of one liter of gasoline in the region increased by only three kopecks over the week, amounting to 72 rubles and 94 kopecks. According to experts' calculations, there are currently more than 900 gas stations operating in the republic.
