The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan made it into the top five Russian megacities where experts recorded the most noticeable increase in the price of ready-made housing as of July 2026.
As reported on Friday, August 14, by the publication "RBK Real Estate," one square meter on the secondary market in Kazan increased in price by 1.4 percent over the month, reaching 238.6 thousand rubles. According to experts' calculations, the secondary housing in July rose the most in Krasnoyarsk, where the increase was 1.8 percent, and experts attribute this to a strong shift in demand from the new construction market, as ready apartments are significantly cheaper for buyers than those under construction. Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod shared second place with a growth of 1.7 percent each, while Moscow rounded out the top five with a price increase of 1 percent. Notably, at the same time, new buildings in Kazan decreased in price by one percent in the second quarter, reaching a price of 277.4 thousand rubles per square meter, whereas in the first quarter of the year, a growth of 2.8 percent was recorded. The day before, it was reported that at the August republican meeting of education workers held in Tatarstan, key parameters for financing the program to ensure the safety of educational institutions were announced. In the current 2026 year, about 2 billion rubles were allocated from the regional budget for these purposes, which is an unprecedented amount. At the same time, the minister emphasized that budgetary injections alone are not enough, and the educational institutions themselves must strictly and unconditionally comply with all established safety requirements.
