       In the capital of Tatarstan, there has been a rapid increase in the population's debt for housing and communal services, which could negatively impact the preparation of the city's infrastructure for the upcoming autumn-winter period.

       As reported on Tuesday, August 25, by the deputy head of the executive committee of Kazan, Iskander Giniyatullin, the total debt of the residents of the republic to management companies has reached 1.67 billion rubles. His words were quoted by BRK.Tatarstan. In his statement, the official emphasized that the completeness and timeliness of payments for consumed resources are the most important parameters directly affecting the quality and timeliness of the preparation of the heating system for the upcoming winter. For comparison, in July 2025, this figure was less than 1 billion rubles, meaning that over the year, the debt has increased by almost 700 million. At the same time, the management companies in Kazan owe resource-supplying organizations 258 million rubles. According to the official, this difference is achieved through systematic claims work, the calculation and collection of penalties, as well as the provision of additional paid services. It is worth noting that earlier, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Alexey Pesoshin, stated that the total debt for housing and communal services throughout the republic exceeded 10 billion rubles. The day before, it was reported that in the new school year, nearly 16,000 first-graders will sit at desks in Kazan schools for the first time, and the total number of students in educational institutions in the capital of Tatarstan will reach 183,000 children.
