      Almir Abashev has become the Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan. This information was confirmed to Tatar-inform by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the RT.

      Almir Abashev was born on December 6, 1975 in Kazan. He graduated from Kazan State Medical University with a degree in general medicine, and then completed a clinical residency at the Department of Neurology, Vertebroneurology and Manual Medicine of the Kazan State Medical Academy.

      He headed the neurology department at the Republican Vertebroneurological Center. He was deputy general director of the Republican Clinical Neurological Center. For one and a half years he served as chief physician of the Republican Children’s Tuberculosis Sanatorium “Observatory.” From 2003 to 2016 he was chief physician of Republican Clinical Hospital No. 2. He then headed the medical unit of Kazan Federal University for three years.

      Since April 2019 he has held the post of First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      Recall that on June 6 of this year Marsel Minnullin, who had held the post of Minister of Health of the RT since 2023, left his position. The corresponding decree was signed by the Rais of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov.

In 2002 he was deputy general director of the Republican Clinical Neurological Center. For one and a half years he served as chief physician of the Republican Children’s Tuberculosis Sanatorium “Observatory.” From 2003 to 2016 he was chief physician of Republican Clinical Hospital No. 2. He then headed the medical unit of Kazan Federal University for three years.

      Since April 2019 he has held the post of First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan. In August 2025 he was appointed Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan.
