On the sidelines of the 4th Kazan Global Youth Summit, KFU UNIVER TV's press corner is operating.
Today we spoke about trends in youth policy with representatives from more than ten countries.
The opening of the IV Kazan Global Youth Summit, co-organized by Kazan Federal University, took place in the new building of the Tatar State Academic Theater named after Galiaskar Kamal. This year more than 200 delegates from 45 countries have come to the city, including Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, China, Malaysia and Pakistan. Among the participants are ministers, rectors, scholars, diplomats, media representatives and youth movement leaders who will discuss the future of education, culture and media. Particularly popular on the sidelines of the summit is the press corner of Kazan Federal University’s popular science TV channel UNIVER TV, called Kazan Global Youth Summit, which will operate for two days — August 28 and 29.
The geographic range of participating respondents is wide: the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Belarus, the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. One of the guests is the founder and CEO of Startup Chattogram, Arafatul Islam Akib. Startup Chattogram is a community engaged in developing startups and entrepreneurship in Chittagong, Bangladesh. In the interview he spoke about providing resources, mentorship and consultations for budding entrepreneurs. They also discussed artificial intelligence, specifically the role modern technologies and social media play in the lives of today’s young people, and trends in education and careers. The guest singled out the calling card of the Republic of Tatarstan — hospitality and the region’s move toward digitalization. During the conversation Arafatul Islam Akib invited people to visit his country.
The attaché for education and culture at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Moscow, director of the Culture Bureau, Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Elsergani, emphasized: “Youth is the strength of any country. The strength, he said, depends on the level of training, opportunities and the intellectual potential of young people. At the moment about 13 thousand students from Egypt are studying in Russia,” he stressed.
Russian author and TV producer, member of the elite club “What? Where? When?” Elena Potanina was also a guest in the studio. In the conversation they discussed the topic of clip-style thinking among modern youth; she also answered the question of what needs to be done for young people to actively consume long-form content. “You can’t force fondness; everything should be by desire and good will,” Potanina believes. “It seems to me that sometimes, although I understand this is difficult, you need to put gadgets aside and look at the real world. Sit in a beautiful place and watch the sun set. It does it quickly, but not as hastily as it could. Here it is — a wonderful meditation, relaxation of the soul — watching, getting used to it.”
MCC ICF trainer, co-founder and professor at the Academy of Professional Coaching and Psychology 5 Prism, and blogger Yuri Muradyan expressed his view on artificial intelligence, considering it more of a benefit; however, it is necessary to be able to manage it and to learn to perceive what is around you. An important point — AI is not capable of truly experiencing. The blogger also recommended a simple rule: when you come home, detach and think of nothing.
Reminder: the summit is organized by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Kazan Federal University and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Co-organizers: the All-Russian public-state movement “Movement of the First,” ANO “Academy of Youth Diplomacy,” GBU “Youth Center of the Republic of Tatarstan.” The summit program continued at Kazan University. The university hosted a blog tour, as well as a case session “EdTech Revolution: How Educational Startups and AI Can Transform Learning Processes,” and a round table on the opportunities for global academic mobility of youth in the era of a multipolar world. Tomorrow KFU will present an exhibition. When partially or fully reprinting the material, as well as when quoting, you must refer to the KFU press service.
