Scammers have started posing as employees of the Social Fund of the Russian Federation.

      The SFR branch in the Republic of Tatarstan reports that fund employees do not request confidential information by phone.

      The Social Fund of Russia (SFR) branch in the Republic of Tatarstan warned residents of the republic that fraudsters are becoming increasingly inventive. They now often call citizens, posing as fund employees and trying to elicit personal data. If you receive such a call, remember: SFR employees will never request your confidential information by phone. Do not disclose your personal information to anyone, especially bank account details or passport data.

      For example, Kazan resident Roza Satdykova shared her story: she received a call from someone claiming to be an SFR employee who asked for passport details and a card number allegedly for reimbursement for medicine. The woman immediately suspected a scam and contacted the fund's contact center, where it was confirmed that the callers were fraudsters.

      It is important to understand that the real SFR branch schedules citizen appointments only through a special online service on the fund’s official website. If someone asks you to confirm a visit with a code from an SMS message, know — this is a trick used by criminals.

      Also be cautious if you hear a message claiming you must urgently transfer money to a new account due to problems with your card or account. Remember: you personally choose the method of pension delivery at the SFR branch.
