First Deputy Minister of Health of Tatarstan Almir Abashev was officially appointed acting head of the department. The corresponding information was published on the SPARK-Interfax service. According to the portal, he assumed the position on Tuesday, August 26.
Recall that at the beginning of June this year the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, relieved the head of the Ministry of Health, Marsel Minnullin, of his duties.
At the same time, several sources in the healthcare system who spoke to Realnoe Vremya said that Abashev unofficially assumed the position immediately after Minnullin’s dismissal.

Abashev is 49 years old; he is an Honored Doctor of Tatarstan and a Candidate of Medical Sciences. After graduating from Kazan State Medical University, he completed a clinical residency in neurology.
Abashev’s professional path includes working as head of a department at the Republican Clinical Vertebroneurology Center and as chief physician of a children’s tuberculosis sanatorium. Since 2012 he has been the chief physician at several medical institutions, and since April 2019 he has served as the First Deputy Minister of Health of Tatarstan.
