"Tatarstan — My Republic": Zainsk librarians told children about their native land

      On the eve of the Republic Day of Tatarstan, a festive event was held in Zainsk aimed at the patriotic education of the younger generation. Young readers learned more about the symbols and values of the multiethnic region through poems, games and songs.

      On August 28, staff of the S. Rafikov Central Library in the city of Zainsk organized an educational and entertaining program for their readers called "Tatarstan — My Republic." The event was designed to tell children about the history and main symbols of the region, and to foster in them a sense of pride and love for their homeland.

      Librarians introduced the young participants to Tatarstan’s official symbols — the coat of arms and the flag — explaining in detail the meanings of their elements and colors. The program was rich and varied: children recited poems about the Motherland, friendship and native soil, actively guessed riddles and listened to songs celebrating the unity of the republic’s peoples.

      National games added a special liveliness; they not only amused the children but also, in a playful way, conveyed traditions and aspects of Tatar culture.

      At the close of the celebration, library staff and children together wished their republic prosperity and further development and promised to cherish and love it. To mark the occasion, the library arranged a themed book exhibition "Tugan җirem minem — Tatarstan" ("My native land — Tatarstan"), where every reader can find literature on the history, culture and outstanding people of the region.

      The event served as a vivid reminder that friendship, mutual understanding and respect for elders are the guarantors of peace in multiethnic Tatarstan.
