      In Kazan, a festival "Uynagyz, garmunnar!" ("Play, accordion!") kicked off on the square in front of the Kamal Theatre in honor of Republic Day. Garmon players from Tatarstan and other regions of Russia performed here. This was reported by a correspondent for BUSINESS Online.

      The festival opened with performances by garmon players, after which Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan and chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaikhraziev addressed the guests and participants of the event. He congratulated Tatarstan residents on behalf of the head of the republic, the government and the World Congress of Tatars.

      "It is so nice to gather all together to show our unity, that we will always be together ... We always say: Kazan welcomes guests not only on its birthday, but all 365 days," he said, adding that the republic's capital is developing dynamically and that the region itself is considered a pillar for Russia.

      In his speech he reminded that a special operation is currently underway, which has united residents. Shaikhraziev expressed confidence that victory will soon prevail.

      The celebration continued with performances by ensembles from Bashkortostan, Udmurtia, the Samara and Tyumen regions, as well as from the Kurmorsky District and Aktanysh. An artist from Chuvashia said that their ensemble has come for the second time, and that they have already been in the republic for five days. Also performing were Rinat Mekhetdinov and Rishat Faizlyakhyemov. The festival concluded with a parade of garmon players who marched along Bauman Street.

      Today the residents were congratulated on Republic Day and City Day by the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. Today in the city performances will be given by Tatyana Bulanova, Alsou and Azat Fazlyevs, and the "Turetsky Choir." Singer Defne will also take the stage, along with artists of the Kazan Philharmonic and the Zheleznov Chapel. The celebration will end with a fireworks display at 22:00 over the Kazanka river area, which can be seen from any point on the embankment from the Kirov Dam to the Millennium Bridge.
