Miss Tourism Universe contestants revealed which costumes they will wear at the competition.
At the Miss Tourism Universe contest in early September in Lebanon, Tatarstan will be represented by Karina Abdullina, a native of the Aznakayevsky District, and Russia by Kristina Otekina, a native of Volsk in the Saratov Region and a graduate of KFU. The women spoke today about preparing their costumes for the upcoming event at a press conference at Tatar-inform.
"I will perform in a costume by the well-known brand Buro Banu. The costume will be called 'Sun. Moon'; it was created for Rajana Sultanova, who made the top seven of Mrs. Universe 2024," Karina Abdullina said.
Kristina Otekina said that her costume, despite the contestants flying to the competition tomorrow, is still being finalized.
"To be honest, my costume is not completely designed yet. I still have 10 hours to finalize it. The search for a Russian folk costume really took up most of my time. I looked in different cities — in Kazan, in Saratov, even in Moscow. But the right one was found in my hometown of Volsk, though it still needs work. Perhaps everything will change tonight. Who knows? There will be a final fitting, anything can happen... There is another costume, it's from Kazan, who knows how it will go..." Otekina said.
According to the contestant, her costume reflects Russian traditions while fitting modern parameters. "The costume will be a bit unusual and unconventional. But you'll all see soon — it will be a small intrigue," she concluded.
The Miss Tourism Universe contest is aimed at promoting nations and regions. It takes place from September 1 to September 12 in Beirut.
