      In Kazan, the historic Church of Cosmas and Damian on Musa Jalil Street will be restored. The building, constructed in the early 18th century, is in a state of disrepair. The Tatarstan Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites has already approved the project for its renovation. Specialists conducted historical research and discovered traces of the original masonry, as well as elements of unique decoration that had been lost over time. As part of the restoration, it is planned to gradually stabilize the endangered parts of the building, restore architectural details using archival materials, reinforce the foundation and repair the roof. The Church of Cosmas and Damian was built in 1708 by the merchant Ivan Mikhlyaev. Initially, it served as a gate church at the entrance to the Peter and Paul Cathedral.
