Sixteen employees returned to KAMAZ from the special operation zone.
To date, 16 KAMAZ employees have returned from the SMO zone to their workplaces — some were demobilized for health reasons, while others’ contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense expired.
In particular, six people have returned to work at KAMAZ’s foundry plant. Four of them were mobilized in 2022, and two served under contract. Today they are again working in the cast iron and non‑ferrous casting shops, as well as in the production of casting tooling and in the repair service. Among them is Alexey Bogachkin — before mobilization he worked as a milling machine operator in the PLO production preparation shop, and upon his return he became a foreman of the shop that manufactures casting tooling.
“As with all our guys, the team supported him during that period — helping to acquire gear and everything necessary,” said Damir Aflyatonov, head of casting tooling production, about Bogachkin. “Throughout his service colleagues stayed in touch with him, supporting him morally and financially. This year Alexey was demobilized for health reasons, and of course we were awaiting his return to the plant. While the transfer process was underway, he was accompanied at all stages by representatives from our production and the plant’s HR department. Now we are ready to make every effort to help Alexey adapt as quickly as possible to civilian life and his new role. His attitude is optimistic — you can tell he missed the team and the work.”
At the forging plant, Dmitry Osinkin returned with other veterans; he is a fifth‑grade heat treater in the thermal finishing operations section of KPK‑3. In 2022 he volunteered to go to the SMO zone but suffered a serious wound and, after lengthy treatment and subsequent rehabilitation, was discharged. Soon, once he has finished further treatment, Osinkin will also start working.
For his heroism and courage, Dmitry was recently presented at the plant with the state medal “For Courage” and the Ministry of Defense’s medal “Participant in the Special Military Operation.” They were handed over by the military commissar of the two districts of Naberezhnye Chelny, Rashid Ilyasov.
Back in 2022, at KAMAZ, at the initiative of CEO Sergey Kogogin, a support program for SMO participants was developed, under which the company provides comprehensive assistance to fighters and their families. Thus, every KAMAZ employee serving in the SMO receives monthly financial assistance from the company in the amount of 50,000 rubles, and the family of a mobilized employee is given a monthly Lenta store voucher worth 5,000 rubles. SMO participants are entitled to a one‑time rehabilitation and restorative treatment course at the Naberezhnye Chelny clinic‑sanatorium. The course can be taken either after demobilization or during leave. In addition, the company helps restore the health of relatives of fallen fighters.
Since the program began, 19 KAMAZ employees have used the rehabilitation benefit. Four of them subsequently returned to their workplaces, and another eight went back to the SMO zone and continue to serve today. Photo: PJSC KAMAZ
