"Four Seasons": an area for people with dogs will open in Kazan's Sovetsky District.

      On Saturday, September 6, from 12:00 to 15:00, the opening of a new play area for dogs and their owners will take place in Zarya Square in the Sovetsky District of the capital of Tatarstan. The event will be held as part of "Fluffy Fest!", organized by the winner of the people's festival of yard events "Kürshe" together with the "Dog‑Friendly Tatarstan" project.

      The new site includes all the elements necessary for comfortable and safe recreation: a vestibule for safe entry, canopies, benches and special hooks for leashes, bags and other items.

      The play equipment is designed to suit dogs of different sizes and skill levels — unlike sports equipment for trained pets. At the same time, there is still plenty of open space on the site for active games with an owner or other dogs.

      "Work on the site began last year. In 2023, the comprehensive improvement of the residential area along Zarya Street went beyond the immediate yards. Thanks to the 'Our Yard' program, active requests from residents and support from the administration of the Sovetsky District, a park project along the houses was presented, in which space was allocated for a training and play area for dogs. Even then approaches were made, lighting poles and navigation stands were installed. In 2025 the city hall allocated funding for fencing and the installation of play equipment," said Darya Raek, curator of the project to develop a culture of responsible attitudes toward pets at the Institute for the Development of Cities of the Republic of Tatarstan, "Dog‑Friendly Tatarstan."

      Festival program.

      Area for people with dogs:

      · 12:00 – ceremonial opening;

      · 12:30 – tour "Why are the sites like this now?" (Darya Raek);

      · 13:00 – master class "What to do on the site?" with Roman Sharonov, former captain of FC Rubin, his pets Labrador Gibraltar and bulldog Jini under the guidance of canine specialist Olga Merkushenkova;

      · 14:00 – contests.

      Lecture series:

      · 12:30 – Just dog it (Liza Bogdanova, PR manager of the "Dog‑Friendly Tatarstan" project) – tips on how to lead an active lifestyle with your dog;

      · 13:30 – "Traveling with a dog" (Liza Bogdanova) – about preparing for trips together;

      · 14:30 – "The Cat Said 'Meow'" (Darya Raek) – about rules for walking cats and the dangers of letting them roam unsupervised.

      Children's zone:

      · 13:30 – "Tail‑ology: how dogs say 'Hi' and 'Give me a cookie'" (Yulia Kalinina, animal behavior specialist)

      In addition, during the festival there will be master classes and face painting by the Municipal Budgetary Institution "Podrostok."

      Also, from 12:00 to 15:00 a photo zone with an animal photographer will be operating on the site, as well as a market featuring "Dog‑Friendly Tatarstan" (books on pet care), with jewelry and clothing for pets and more. The "ECOlogichno Kazan" project will also be represented at the market, where guests can learn about urban eco-projects, drop off recyclables and purchase eco‑products.

      Visitors will also be able to meet dogs looking for homes. They are required to undergo veterinary checks. A pet registration point will be in operation throughout the event. If the pet already has a microchip, the service is free.
