KIU Studfest: Freshmen Plunge into Vibrant Student Life

      One of the most eagerly awaited events of this autumn has taken place — the legendary STUDFEST at KIU. This festival has long become a calling card of the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov: it is here that the talent, energy and drive of every first-year student are revealed. KIU is not just a university. It is a place where stars are born, where everyone finds their passion and gets a chance to show themselves. Ruslan Rafatovich Zagitov, Vice‑Rector for Youth Policy at KIU, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech: “Our Freshman Week is practically coming to an end. We always want to make it so that you are immersed in the university environment as much as possible, so that you learn about all the opportunities available at the university. Student years are the best time, the brightest time, and it’s up to you how great they will be.” Polina Zaitseva, Chair of the KIU Student Council, added: “Today’s festival is a great chance to show yourself, find new friends and recharge your energy for the entire academic year. Join our ranks, become active members and soak up the positivity.” The festival gave first‑year students a vivid program: the vocal group VIVA performed the track “My Shores”; the fashion theatre Calypso presented the piece “Sikherle Ieler”; the dance theatre MixStyle showed the composition “The Maiden Horde.” STUDFEST is not only creative performances but also an opportunity to immediately dive into student life. Special stations introduced the students to areas where they can get involved: • Organizing Committee — the team that turns every event into an unforgettable one; • Media Department — photographers, videographers, PR specialists who make KIU known throughout the republic; • Debate Club — a school of argumentation and public speaking; • Volunteering — assistance to orphanages, animals, blood donation campaigns, social projects; • Patriotic Club “Berkut” and the Student Squads Headquarters “Alpha” — a true school of civic responsibility; • Sports Committee — a space for future champions. First‑year students completed tasks, collected stamps, took part in a quiz about KIU and received cool prizes. STUDFEST has ended, but student life is only beginning. First‑year students have new projects, discoveries, victories and, of course, true friendship ahead of them. Welcome to the big KIU family!
