      A 62-year-old resident of Chistopol, while viewing advertising videos on the Internet, saw a message about investing. The offer seemed tempting, and he filled out a form on the website, leaving his personal data and phone number.

      Almost immediately he received a callback from someone who introduced himself as an employee of an investment company. During the phone conversation they explained in detail about lucrative investment opportunities and offered to start cooperation, promising a payment of 215,000 rubles.

      Interested in the prospect of making a profit, the man decided to try. He transferred 9,000 rubles to a phone number through his bank’s online account, acting according to the caller’s instructions.

      When his daughter learned of her father’s decision to invest funds through a dubious platform, she immediately understood that he had become a victim of a fraudulent scheme. Worried about possible consequences, she contacted the police for help.

      An investigator of the investigative department of the OMVD of Russia for the Chistopol District opened a criminal case on the fact of fraud. Operational and investigative measures are currently being carried out to identify the persons involved in committing this crime.

      Police officers warn citizens of the need to be vigilant when receiving investment offers, especially if they seem too advantageous. It is recommended to thoroughly verify information about investment companies and avoid transferring money to unfamiliar accounts.
