The Chief State Traffic Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Garipov, emphasized the importance of promptly informing law enforcement of every case when a child gets behind the wheel. This statement was made during a meeting of the Government Commission on Road Traffic Safety. At the initiative of the State Traffic Inspectorate, the region has already introduced a ban on selling gasoline to teenagers at gas stations. However, despite these measures, cases of children riding pit bikes continue to appear on social media. In response, law enforcement agencies are conducting special raids, identifying offenders and holding parents or guardians accountable. One tragic example was the fatal accident that occurred on August 17 in the Spassky District. A 15-year-old teenager who regularly drove a car without permission died as a result of the crash. This case served as a signal to authorities of the need to strengthen control and prevent similar tragedies. Garipov urged citizens to report any instances of minors operating vehicles to the State Traffic Inspectorate or to the local police officer. This will allow timely measures to be taken and prevent potential accidents, he stressed, noting that every such incident must be carefully monitored and stopped.
