      The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan handed down a sentence to the former deputy head of the Privolzhsky Directorate of Rostechnadzor, Alexander Igonov. For committing particularly large-scale fraud and exceeding his official powers he received 6.5 years in a general regime penal colony.

      Along with him, his accomplices were also convicted — former director of strategic planning at the Kazan Helicopter Plant Ildar Mustafin (5.5 years in a penal colony) and Kazan entrepreneur Valery Nikitenko (5.5 years). All three were charged in the same criminal case and did not plead guilty either during the investigation or at trial.

      The basis of the accusation was a scheme to force contractors to use the services of the affiliated firm "Spektrstroy." According to the investigation, Igonov imposed a contract on LLC "Group Energostroy" worth 5.2 million rubles for preparing a conformity opinion for the boiler house at Kazan CHPP-1. The second episode concerns Nizhnekamskneftekhim, where the damage amounted to 29 million rubles.

      At the trial, among other things, it was also proven that the company "Spektrstroy," controlled by Igonov and headed by Mustafin, was fictitious. Nikitenko registered it by submitting forged documents to the tax authority.
