      You can get a tax refund if treatment was paid for:

      - yourself, your parents, your husband or wife;

      - a child, adopted child or ward under 18. Since 2022 — up to 24 years old if the child is studying full‑time. In that case, the expenses must be borne by the parent or guardian. If the treatment was paid for by the child themself, then the right to the deduction is exercised by them independently — from their own income taxed by personal income tax at 13%.

      Ways to obtain the medical treatment deduction

      - after the end of the calendar year when filing the 3‑NDFL declaration.

      - during the year through the employer — an application will be required in the personal account on the Federal Tax Service website.

      - since 2025 it has become possible to apply for the deduction in a simplified format via the FTS personal account (for expenses incurred from January 1, 2024).

      How much you can receive

      The total amount of expenses taken into account for the treatment deduction is 150,000 rubles per year. Accordingly, residents of Tatarstan can recover 13% of this amount — a maximum of 19,500 rubles.

      For high‑cost treatment the limit does not apply: 13% of the entire amount paid is reimbursed, provided that the services are included in the approved list.
