A United Russia party delegation inspected the work being carried out in Kazan's courtyards.

      Today deputies of the State Council visited several courtyards in Kazan, where they inspected the progress of repair work and reported on the implementation of improvement programs.

      A party delegation made up of State Council deputy of Tatarstan and Deputy Chair of the State Council Committee on Social Policy Olga Voronova, State Council deputy of Tatarstan and Chair of the State Council Committee on Housing Policy and Infrastructure Development Andrey Yegorov, deputy heads of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of Kazan Ilnaz Sibgatov, representatives of the management company and contractors inspected the progress of the improvement of the yard areas in the 11th microdistrict of Kazan. Repair work is being carried out as part of the "Our Yard" program. Sidewalks have already been repaired in the courtyards, and children's and sports playgrounds have been installed.

      "Today we looked at the microdistrict at the intersection of Zavoyskogo, Fuchika and Kul Gali streets. Under the 'Our Yard' program, the territory of 15 apartment buildings has been improved. New lighting poles and additional parking spaces have appeared. There are also 11 sports and 12 children's playgrounds. With the efforts of management companies, a new football pitch appeared in the courtyard of the Kul Gali, 9/95 building. In addition, new sidewalks have been built at the three kindergartens located here," said Ilnaz Sibgatov.

      Residents themselves spoke about how the yard improvements affected them.

      "The fact that this program is being carried out is a great thing, because these houses are all from the 1980s, they were so neglected and how they are transforming now brings joy to everyone — both the elderly and the children. Now our children can safely go out, play, ride. Huge thanks to the leadership of the republic, the city, the district administration and the management company. We now have celebrations in the courtyards — it brings people together," said resident Marina Zinnatullina.

      Radmir Tazov is the youngest member of the delegation; he lives in a courtyard where repair work is not yet finished.

      "Before the yard was old and dirty, I didn't like it very much. We used to go to other yards, those were better, and now here is a new yard, we only play here," Radmir said, adding that he is most looking forward to the sports ground.

      Over five years, under the "Our Yard" program, more than 453 courtyard territories have been renovated in the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of Kazan, covering 701 apartment buildings; children's and sports playgrounds and waste collection areas have been installed, additional lighting poles and benches placed.

      For 2026, improvement of 113 courtyards is planned in the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts — that is 156 apartment buildings, the deputy head of the district shared.

      The "Our Yard" program was launched in 2020 on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov (since 2023 — Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan). He supported the United Russia party's idea to improve the courtyards of residential buildings and instructed the party to discuss standards for the arrangement of adjacent territories with residents.

      "During the existence of the 'Our Yard' program in the republic, 5,174 courtyards have been completed, more than half of them in Kazan. Over the entire period of the program, it is planned that, with the support of the Rais of the republic, this program will cover more than 2 million people and about 7–8 thousand courtyards will be renovated in the republic. This is a colossal program, a huge step," noted Andrey Yegorov.

      According to Olga Voronova, the issue of improvement is very important for United Russia. It began with a program to improve public spaces 10 years ago, when parks, squares and embankments in Tatarstan began to be put in order.

      "We are always amazed at how much has been done in that time. By the numbers, a lot of public spaces have been improved over 10 years, and then, based on the results of the public spaces reconstruction program, the 'Our Yard' program began. It is being implemented in its sixth year, and today we are in one of the wonderful courtyards that will be renovated literally in a few days," emphasized the State Council deputy.

      In Olga Voronova's view, the most important thing is the feedback from residents.

      "People thank the republic, Rais, the Mayor, they thank deputies, public activists and caring people that this program works, that we now have improvements in every corner of Kazan and the republic. Therefore the United Russia party has set all its tasks precisely in this direction, and they are included both in the federal party project 'Urban Environment' and in United Russia's people's program," the deputy noted.

      Olga Voronova also spoke about the party's plans for improvements.

      "The next program has already begun to be implemented under the leadership of Rais — this is utility networks. This is also very important for our residents because housing and communal services issues are always sensitive. The Rais of the republic sees these problems and, together with residents and authorities, is solving them," she concluded.
