The building of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan has been extensively renovated in Kazan.

      Thanks to the support of the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, major renovations totaling 100 million rubles have been carried out in the building of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan. This was reported by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and head of the Assembly of the Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Mukhametshin, at a round table on preserving the native languages and cultures of the peoples of the republic. "I want to thank the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, for allocating funds for the renovation, and the builders for seriously updating the building and creating the necessary conditions. New opportunities are arising for full-fledged work. And we must seriously fill this renovated building with content," he said. Mukhametshin urged the leaders of national-cultural autonomies to show more initiative and to submit proposals related to the areas of their activity. "Bring something new, interesting, so that life always buzzes here, so that the doors are open and people come to you. This is what serving your people means," he stressed. The main renovation work was carried out on the first floor in two wings and in the concert hall, said the director of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan, Timur Kadyrov. On the first floor, he said, a multifunctional hall has appeared. Round tables, seminars, trainings, conferences and ceremonial events are planned to be held here. An exhibition space has been created in the second wing. "Additional opportunities have already appeared to make the work of our national-cultural associations more effective. All associations that are part of the assembly can use the entire infrastructure of our institution free of charge," Kadyrov noted. He recalled that representatives of about 40 peoples are part of the Assembly of the Peoples of Tatarstan through their associations. "The organization has a long history that begins in 1992. The House of Friendship of the Peoples and the Multinational Sunday School have almost a thirty-year history. The Youth Assembly of the Peoples of Tatarstan has been actively working in the republic for 12 years. According to the assembly’s development concept, it is precisely the joint work of these institutions and associations in the implementation of state national policy that should be reflected in the exhibits of the House of Friendship’s exhibition space," the director of the institution said. Kadyrov added that an exhibition of traditional costumes of the Volga peoples has been organized. Its exhibits will be displayed in glass cases and on mannequins. The concept also foresees the organization of themed art exhibitions, including with paintings placed on easels. "An important venue for work will also be the new conference hall, equipped with all the necessary equipment. It is compact, accommodating up to 30 people. Its equipment allows meetings to be held in video-conference mode, which is relevant in our time," he said. In addition, a TV studio with special sound insulation has been created on the first floor. Areas for recording podcasts and interviews have appeared. "A green screen for video shooting, video cameras, microphones, lighting, and a sound recording console have appeared," the director of the House of Friendship specified. Another choreography hall has opened in the building. It is designed for rehearsals of groups of up to 14 people. During the renovation the concert hall was updated — new lighting equipment and a large LED screen have been installed, and the stage has been enlarged by almost two meters. Fire safety equipment and video surveillance in the building have also been updated, and a second entrance group has been added. Both entrances are accessible to people with limited mobility. "I am confident that all these positive changes will help our national-cultural associations hold their events at a higher organizational level," Kadyrov concluded.
