The Interior Ministry warned about the last day of legalization for migrants in Russia.

      Foreign nationals who are on the territory of Russia without the appropriate authorization have the last 24 hours to regularize their status. From tomorrow, measures provided for by law will begin to be applied to illegal migrants.

      The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reminded the public that the special decree allowing foreign nationals to legalize their stay in the country has expired. The relevant provisions lose force as of today, which means that those who have not yet regularized their status must immediately contact migration services. Starting from September 11, all measures provided for by law, up to and including expulsion from the Russian Federation, will be applied to foreign nationals who did not take advantage of the opportunity to legalize. An important consequence of violating migration legislation will be a ban on entering Russia in the future.

      For citizens of the neighboring state who have permanent registration on the territory of Ukraine, the possibility remains to apply for a residence permit in the Russian Federation or to submit an application for Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure.

      Foreign nationals who have not regularized their legal status will face a number of restrictions from tomorrow. They will be prohibited from entering into or dissolving marriages on the territory of Russia, enrolling children in educational institutions, operating vehicles, as well as using other important state and social services.

      To legalize their stay, it is necessary to contact the passport and visa services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the place of actual residence or the nearest migration units. Specialists recommend doing this today to avoid the application of sanctions provided by law.
