The management company in Almetyevsk was punished after a young couple were poisoned by gas.

      In Almetyevsk the management company Alsu was fined 125,000 rubles after an incident of carbon monoxide poisoning. On the evening of June 8 a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were hospitalized from building No. 165 on Sh. Marjani Street with signs of gas poisoning. An inspection by the Tatarstan Housing Inspectorate found there was no draft in the apartment’s chimney despite prior maintenance. The management company’s documents contained numerous violations: missing residents’ signatures, incomplete inspection sheets and missing certificates of completed work. The inspectorate concluded that the company had taken a formal approach to checking chimneys and ventilation shafts, violating legal requirements. As a result, Alsu was held administratively liable and fined 125,000 rubles, the press service of the Tatarstan Housing Inspectorate reported.
