The Kazan Film Festival showcased a spectrum of national cinema: from "Adventurers" to "Legends of Bolgar".

      As part of the XXI Kazan International Film Festival "Altyn Minbar", a large-scale meeting was held for filmmakers working in a national format. Directors and producers presented their new films to journalists, discussing the growing interest of audiences and the urgent problems of the industry.

      Alexander Dolmatov, director of the series "A Man Leaves, the Song Remains", noted an encouraging fact: audience interest in national cinema is growing. "We need to learn not only to make a good product, but also to cultivate the viewer," he emphasized.

      A systemic problem was raised by director Yuri Gvozd, author of the film "Memory of the Heart" about volunteers who preserve historical heritage. He drew attention to the problems of Tatarstan cinema. "Cinema is not only an art, but also an industry. Unfortunately, we have problems with this in Tatarstan. There are film studios in Yakutia, in Bashkortostan, but the advanced Republic of Tatarstan does not have one. It is time to create our own film studio here, because it is a concentration of all opportunities."

      The "National Competition" program included films of a wide thematic range, each of them unique.

      Renat Saiga presented the romantic comedy "Adventurers" in Kazan: "The film was shot in Tatarstan, and we hope that the general audience will appreciate it," the director shared.

      Sergey Kiatrov immerses the viewer in the world of history in the animated film "Legends of Bolgar". The young hero Timer and the Keeper of Time assemble a team to protect the ancient city from a treacherous djinn. "We wanted people to get to know the ancient city of Bolgar and want to visit it," the director explained his goal.

      Several authors spoke about preserving the cultural code through cinema. Director Amir Abbyasov in the film "In Memory" captured the story of the last World War II veteran in a Nizhny Novgorod village. And Irek Khafizov, whose "Daughters-Mothers" have already been warmly received in Moscow and Kazan, expressed hope for wide distribution of his film.

      The animated film by Aisylu Zamalieva "Tugan Batyr" is the story of a young hero with a kind heart. The animation raises themes of friendship, mutual help, and the struggle of good against evil. "Tugan Batyr is being prepared for release on international film markets. Our goal is to unite children of all nations of the world so that Tugan Batyr becomes a friend and role model for them," said the head of the animated film project.

      Other participants of the press conference shared deeply personal and spiritual works. Firdaniya Khusnutdinova presented the poignant film "My Beloved Prophet", which she made over almost five years. "My love overflowed for the Prophet Muhammad, and I thank my heart that it loved him," she shared emotionally.

      Summing up, director Didar Orazov ("Time That Casts a Shadow") noted the unifying role of the festival: "The camera of a director will inevitably capture a person and their story. We continue to cooperate with those we worked with in preparing to participate in the film forum. Thank you to the festival for its marvelous atmosphere and the opportunity to establish new contacts with colleagues in the field."

      Recall that the XXI Kazan International Film Festival "Altyn Minbar" is taking place in the capital of Tatarstan from September 5 to 9. The forum's motto is: "Through a dialogue of cultures — to a culture of dialogue."
