A bite from a domestic cat resulted in three months of treatment and plastic surgery for a resident of Tatarstan.

      The bite of a domestic cat turned into treatment lasting more than three months and reconstructive surgery for a 50-year-old resident of Nizhnekamsk, the RKB press service reported. Medics explained that it all happened on May 31; the bite was on his leg. The wound became inflamed. An abscess developed on the shin, and then a phlegmon, with which the man was admitted to the NCMRB. Because of deep infection, doctors had to remove tissue, and as a result a tendon was exposed. For further treatment and reconstructive surgery, the patient from Nizhnekamsk was sent to the purulent surgery department of the RKB in Kazan. The RKB septic surgeons cleaned the wound again and performed reconstructive surgery so that the wound would finally heal. The patient was discharged home. After some time the man will have to return to the doctors to assess whether everything has taken and whether additional operations are needed.
