A patriotic hour was held at Library No. 7 where children learned about the heroes’ feats and sent them their greetings
Last Tuesday the halls of City Library No. 7 were especially warm and solemn. Pupils from the preparatory group of the Ryabinka kindergarten gathered here to take part in an important and heartfelt event — a patriotic hour titled “SMO Heroes — Our Fellow Countrymen!”.
The event began with a serious talk. Librarian Elvira Arkhipova told the little ones what the Special Military Operation is and why it is our duty to remember and honor those who defend peaceful life from afar. The children listened attentively to stories of courage, resilience and the incredible strength of spirit of Russian servicemen. Special emphasis was placed on the feats of our fellow countrymen, whose names are now associated with true heroism and selfless love of the Motherland.
“For children it is very important to understand what patriotism means through the example of real people, possibly even those who live on their street. We talked about simple human qualities: bravery, friendship, mutual assistance and responsibility. It is these values that our soldiers defend,” Elvira Arkhipova shared her impressions.
But theory quickly gave way to practice. The second part of the meeting was entirely devoted to creativity. Under the librarian’s guidance the children took part in a workshop to make an “Autumn Card for the SMO Fighters.” The children cut, glued and drew with great enthusiasm and reverence, putting their kindest and brightest feelings into every detail. Bright maple leaves blossomed on the sheets of paper, and sincere inscriptions such as “Thank you!” and “We’re waiting for you to come home!” appeared.
The highlight of the event came when the finished cards were not simply stacked, but carefully, as something very precious, placed into a camouflage net — a symbol of army life. This net will soon be sent to the fighters in the area of the Special Military Operation along with other humanitarian aid shipments.
“These children’s cards are not just paper with drawings. They are a powerful moral boost for our defender-fighters. They show that people care about them, are waiting for them and believe in them, even the youngest residents of their hometown. This is the very connection between the front and the home front that makes us stronger,” noted a teacher from the Ryabinka kindergarten.
This patriotic hour proved that even the youngest age is no obstacle to feeling involved in the fate of one’s country and showing support for those who protect it. Simple little hands created real letters of kindness that will warm the heroes’ hearts in difficult front-line conditions. Aigul Yarullina
