      Tatarstan has introduced a new support measure for pedagogical workers — compensation for housing rent. It will be available to 350 educators without age or service-length restrictions, provided they pass a competitive selection. This was reported to Tatar-inform by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilsur Khadiullin.

      “Monthly payments are envisaged in an amount corresponding to the rent for the dwelling, but not more than 20,000 rubles per month,” the head of the Ministry of Education and Science said.

      According to him, the payments can be received by kindergarten caregivers and teachers in schools with preschool departments, school teachers, and lecturers of secondary vocational education institutions. A teacher at their primary place of work must have a workload of at least one full-time post.

      “At the same time, the teacher and his or her spouse must not have housing in the municipal district of the republic where the educational organization is located,” Khadiullin emphasized.

      Regulatory documents are currently being developed to organize the payments. Applications will begin to be accepted this year.

      The new support measure for pedagogical workers corresponds to the goals and objectives of the federal project “Teachers‑Mentors” of the national project “Youth and Children.” Recall that the national projects were launched in Russia in 2019 at the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
