The in-person stage of the “Tatar.Bu Hackathon,” dedicated to creating innovative IT solutions to support the Tatar language and culture, has begun in Kazan. The event is taking place from September 12 to 14 at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan Federal University.
Tatarstan’s Minister of Digital Development Ayrat Khayrullin noted the unique combination of technology and the region’s cultural identity, calling on participants to be creative and constructive.
The hackathon is organized by the Institute of Applied Semiotics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the government of Tatarstan ahead of the international forum Kazan Digital Week – 2025. The prize fund amounts to 600 thousand rubles, and the winners will be able to present their projects at the forum in the format of the “Startup Alley” and undertake an internship at the Institute of Applied Semiotics.
