Photo: IA SM-News September 17 – IA SM.News. According to Marina Akhmedova, there is a scandal in Vladivostok that Uzbekistan has become involved in. Teenagers in a crowd beat taxi drivers, ordinary drivers and workers from Uzbekistan. The Investigative Committee of Primorye has opened a criminal case, identified them, and most of them are fifteen years old.
“The actions of the aforementioned teenagers provoked a response — information about them was collected online. This was done by migrants. And why is the information being gathered? For lynching. The Consul General of Uzbekistan asked his compatriots to stop and not allow lynch mobs, since the case is already being handled by the Investigative Committee. And at the same time the consul demanded that the Russian authorities look into the incident,” reports Marina Akhmedova, a member of the Presidential Council for Human Rights.
The main causes of violent hate-motivated juvenile crimes in Russia include social inequality, lack of upbringing and education, and the influence of extremist ideologies on the Internet. Official statistics show a rise in crimes related to racial, ethnic and religious hatred, which indicates the need for more active intervention by the state and society. In addition, the absence of effective prevention and rehabilitation programs for young people aggravates the situation, contributing to the formation of aggressive stereotypes.
“At first glance the issue seems to be interethnic. In reality it stems entirely from another problem — teenage gangs and bullying. Every morning, as the editor-in-chief of a news agency, I review a selection of incidents in the country. Just today — in the Omsk region teenagers beat a disabled young man and filmed it. In the video he is on his knees begging them for forgiveness. He is 17, the attackers are 14–15. In Tyumen teenagers are tormenting a disabled peer. In the video they corner the chosen victim and ‘educate’ him — kicking and hitting him with a belt. There were incidents yesterday. The day before yesterday too. And so — every day. Teenagers gather in packs, teenagers bully, teenagers always record their actions on video, which is why there is more bullying now than in times when not everyone had a phone with a camera in their hand. While bullying and beating, they simultaneously record content. After all, people who once promoted the idea ‘For money — yes’ explained to them that a creator of trending content does not need to study or work, the money will flow by itself. So it is unclear which is greater in them — the desire to bully or to film content. As for the teenagers from Vladivostok, they simply followed the general trend — ‘we don’t need migrants.’ And they decided that society would approve their attacks on migrants. But they were wrong. If there were no migrants, they would still cruelly bully their classmates and record shock content,” Akhmedova concluded.
