      A vigilant resident of Kazan prevented a fraud against an 88-year-old pensioner from Kirov and received thanks from the police. As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kazan, on September 7 Natalya Prokofyeva noticed an elderly man in the courtyard of a building who was loudly discussing handing over money. Suspecting something was wrong, she called the police. It turned out that the 88-year-old pensioner had come from Kirov at the direction of scammers to hand over a large sum of money to them. Thanks to Natalya’s prompt actions, the money remained with the elderly man, and the criminals were unable to carry out their plan. The head of Kazan police, Rinat Gabitov, personally expressed his gratitude to Natalya Prokofyeva for her compassion and active civic stance. “Your vigilance and concern allowed you to protect an elderly person from the actions of fraudsters. Your deed is worthy of emulation,” he emphasized.
