On Dubravnaya Street in Kazan, two serious incidents involving the collapse of the road surface occurred over the past 24 hours.
The first case was in a parking lot located above an old sewer collector built in 1988. A significant sinkhole formed as a result of soil subsidence. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Emergency services responded quickly to the incident: the accident site was cordoned off, and specialists from Vodokanal began to eliminate the consequences.
The company noted that the collector is in unsatisfactory condition and has already been included in the reconstruction plan. Repair work was supposed to be carried out as part of the company's investment program this year. However, the situation worsened the next morning, when the road surface collapsed again in the same parking lot. This time the incident had more serious consequences — a passenger car partially sank into the ground.
