      In October 2025 Russians may face a sharp rise in the prices of key food products. Experts predict a jump in inflation and a significant increase in prices for vegetables, fruits, meat and milk.

      In October of the current year in Russia a rise in the cost of basic foodstuffs is possible. According to experts' estimates, price growth may reach 12 percent. The most substantial price increase, which will be from 15 to 20 percent, will affect fruits and vegetables. The main reasons cited are increased storage costs, a growing share of imported products and an unstable situation in the foreign exchange market. Prices for meat and dairy products may rise by 12–15 percent. This increase is linked to higher compound feed costs, a reduction in milk production volumes and increased logistics expenses. The cost of cereals and flour will rise by approximately 5 percent thanks to a favorable situation in the grain market. Eggs will be affected by seasonal factors, which will lead to their price rising by 10 percent.

      Inflation in October is expected to be significantly higher than in September, and will show a sharp surge compared with August. The difference from August figures may reach 20 percent. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, annual inflation in mid-September stood at 8.02 percent. The Bank of Russia maintains the forecast under which the indicator will fall to 6–7 percent by year-end and return to the target level of 4 percent by 2026.
