A meeting on issues concerning Tatarstan's agro-industrial complex was held at the Ministry.

      Today the Ministry held a videoconference meeting on issues of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the RT — Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov. The meeting was attended by deputy ministers, heads of municipal districts, heads of district agricultural administrations, heads of ministry departments and major investors.

      Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the RT Dmitry Yashin reported that the grain harvest is practically complete. To date, 4,624,000 tonnes of grain have been threshed with an average yield of 37.6 centners/ha. Active harvesting of late crops — potatoes, sugar beet, oilseeds and corn — is underway. The upcoming harvesting area totals approximately 450,000 ha.

      Head of the Department of Engineering and Technical Support of the Agro-Industrial Complex Ilnar Gabbasov spoke about stubble cultivation in the fields, occupational safety at agricultural enterprises and the mechanism for renewing the machinery fleet.

      He reported in more detail on crop treatment using UAVs. “This year, in the farms of the republic, crop treatment using unmanned aerial systems is planned on an area of about 31,000 ha, of which more than 20,000 ha have already been treated.”

      Next, Head of the Livestock Development Department Siren Nigmatzyanov summed up the results for milk production and forage harvesting.

      “As of September 25, 461,807 tonnes of hay, 3,023,580 tonnes of haylage and 1,526,281 tonnes of silage have been stockpiled. Over the past weeks the weather has been favorable for harvesting. I ask you to maximize the deployment of equipment and labor for harvesting corn for silage before the start of the rainy season,” emphasized the department head.

      Siren Nigmatzyanov also spoke about upcoming zonal seminars on livestock and forage production, which will be held in Atninsky District on September 30 and in Alekseevsky District on October 2.

      Deputy Minister Rustem Gainullov reported on the importance of implementing support programs for small forms of farming. He particularly noted the provision of subsidies for self-employed owners of private subsidiary farms (LPH).

      In conclusion, the minister emphasized organizing occupational safety and ensuring biological security at livestock enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan. He also insisted on active and coordinated work of the agricultural administrations, together with the Ministry of Agriculture of the RT, Rosselkhoznadzor and the veterinary service of the RT.
