      Advisor to the Rector of KIU named after V.G. Timiryasov, Professor Oleg Agapov, published a scholarly article “The Concept of State-Civilizations in a Polycentric World” on the authoritative analytical resource “Russian Truth.”

      In his work, Professor Agapov examines one of the most topical issues in contemporary political science — the emergence of a polycentric world order in which the key role is played not by classical nation-states but by large cultural-historical communities — state-civilizations such as Russia, China, India, Turkey and Iran.

      The essence of the article lies in substantiating the transition from outdated models of international relations to a new logic based on civilizational realism and the formula of identity. The author emphasizes that each civilization possesses a unique value foundation, will and historical subjectivity that must be taken into account in the global dialogue.

      Special attention in the article is paid to the analysis of the civilizational projects of Russia and Turkey, the challenges associated with the ideologies of Pan-Turkism and Neo-Ottomanism, and practical proposals to strengthen Russia’s position as a state-civilization through the development of “soft power,” academic comparative studies and its own civilizational proposition.
