The Brown Bear café in central Kazan was closed due to an intestinal infection.

      After reports of cases of intestinal infection in two patrons of the Kazan café "Brown Bear", located on Pushkin Street, Rospotrebnadzor conducted an inspection of the establishment. It was found that the café lacked facilities for preparing dishes from food raw materials, there was an insufficient amount of technological equipment and the necessary set of production areas. In addition, proper separation of products was not observed in the establishment, cutting utensils were not labeled, and the interior finishes of the premises were damaged. Coliform bacteria were found in samples of food products taken and in a swab from the chef’s hands, which indicates violations of personal hygiene rules, storage conditions and food preparation procedures. Protocols were drawn up against the café owner for an administrative offense and for a 14-day ban on the café’s operation; the premises were sealed and the case materials were sent to court. The ill patrons were diagnosed with food poisoning of undetermined etiology.
