Educational institutions of the Laishevsky District took part in the "City of Craftsmen" fair-exhibition.

      Today the traditional annual "City of Craftsmen" fair-exhibition was held at the Kazan Agro-Industrial Park.

      Representatives from all districts and cities of the republic took part in the event — more than 300 participants in total. From early morning the "City of Craftsmen" fair-exhibition drew thousands of guests, delighting them with a packed program and abundant stalls. Visitors purchased unique items and fresh produce, and also immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere with traditional songs and dances. As the organizers reported, within a few hours they managed to sell 70 tons of vegetables and fruits, 50 tons of grains, 3,000 baked goods, 2,500 jars of preserves and 1,000 kg of honey. In addition, 1,500 pieces of decorative and applied art, 1,100 sewn items, 1,000 wooden and 850 metal crafts were sold.

      The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilsur Khadiullin, praised our district for its active participation in the fair of agricultural products and in showcasing technical creative works by school students and students of colleges and technical schools. School groups and the teams from the Laishev Technical-Economic College prepared a very rich exhibition. There were delicious pies, both sweet and savory, pickled vegetables and fruits, jams and compotes, herbal blends and much more. Beautifully arranged stalls, cheerful music and festively dressed promoters created a celebratory atmosphere and good spirits for all guests of the agro-park. Spirits rose even higher when buyers saw the prices: they were many times lower than in stores or at markets.

      A mother of two, Evgenia G., lives in one of the nearby houses and is a frequent guest of the agro-industrial park. She has been coming to the "City of Craftsmen" fair for almost ten years because she knows the value of labor — she herself grew up in the countryside and as a child helped her parents grow fruits and vegetables in the garden. Today she not only bought compotes for her sons, but also chose gifts for them bearing the symbols of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, which were made by other schoolchildren — their peers.

      The "City of Craftsmen" fair became not only a successful venue for marketing the work of students and artisans, but also inspired young people in their career choices. The event demonstrated that manual labor is in demand and esteemed. Traditions and new approaches in vocational education open up wide opportunities for development and success for young people.
