The Ministry of Justice of Tatarstan will provide weekly consultations to citizens on bankruptcy matters.

      From October 1, the State Legal Bureau of the Republic of Tatarstan will begin holding regular consultations for citizens on the issue of personal bankruptcy. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The reception will be held every week on Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at: Kazan, 124 Khadi Taktash Street.

      As Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Maxim Borovkov explained, previously such consultations were provided only as part of outreach events offering free legal aid.

      “Previously, consultations on bankruptcy issues were held only during outreach events providing free legal aid. Now we are organizing a weekly reception at the State Legal Bureau, where citizens can receive qualified advice on these issues on a regular basis,” he said.

      At the meetings, citizens will be told about the procedure and stages of the bankruptcy process, the rules for filing an application and the necessary documents, as well as the possible consequences of going through the procedure. In addition, specialists will answer visitors’ individual questions.

      “It is important to note that the consultations will not concern proceedings that are already underway. We do not have the authority to inspect activities that by law are carried out only under the control of the court. Our task is to make the personal bankruptcy procedure as clear as possible to the widest possible range of the population,” Borovkov emphasized.

      No prior appointment is required to receive a consultation. The State Legal Bureau can be reached by trolleybus No. 11 to the “Kvartal Yustitsii” (“Justice Quarter”) stop.
