Alexander Kupriyanov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Vechernyaya Moskva," has died in his 75th year. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing the publication.
He had held the post since 2011. Kupriyanov was awarded the Order of Friendship for his significant contribution to the development of the mass media and many years of fruitful work. For great merits in the development of national culture and art, television and radio broadcasting, the press, communications and many years of work, he was recognized as an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin presented Kupriyanov with an honorary diploma for his services in the development of the mass media and many years of conscientious work. He was a laureate of the "Golden Pen of Russia" award in the "For Fidelity to the Profession" category, a laureate of the "Media Manager of Russia" award, and a laureate of the "Prose" category prize of the Union of Writers of Russia.
"This is an irreparable loss for the team. The editorial staff expresses its condolences to the family and loved ones of Alexander Ivanovich," the editorial office said in a statement.
