Fraudsters can use personal data to obtain confidential information about citizens, the Russian Interior Ministry warns. In this regard, the ministry recommends not specifying full surname, first name, patronymic and date of birth in public social media profiles, TASS reports.
The Interior Ministry materials emphasize that it is important to limit the amount of information published to avoid the possibility of obtaining additional data. It is also not recommended to post a personal phone number in the public domain.
The Interior Ministry notes that using a real first name and surname for comfortable communication is not a problem; however, the amount of critical information should be limited.
