Tatarstan showcases its potential at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

      From October 7 to 10 the XIV St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is taking place in St. Petersburg. Tatarstan is represented at three venues. At the joint stand in Pavilion F, 18 leading companies from the republic are showcasing their products and technologies; these firms are involved in implementing strategic development projects, including the formation of state and regional gasification and energy-saving programs and the development of small fields — Ammoniy, KMPO, Gazprom Transgaz Kazan, Kazancompressormash, Tagras Holding, Technics, Promenergo and others. For example, the Kazan Motor-Building Production Association is presenting a model of a gas-turbine power unit (a highly efficient unit for generating electricity and heat). Gazprom Transgaz Kazan is demonstrating a control-and-measurement station rack equipped with a sensor for contactless transmission of electrochemical protection parameter data. Kazancompressormash is showing an exhibition model of an "assembly and testing complex for the production of large-tonnage compressor units" (the only complex in Russia that allows testing compressors with power up to 130 MW on model gas in a closed loop using either standard or test drives). The national Tatarstan stand in the passage features unique exhibits reflecting the republic's traditional values and centuries-old history. Visitors to the exhibition can have their portrait done in a national style by a portrait artist. There are also master classes in traditional Tatar crafts — leather mosaic, ushkovaya and tambour embroidery, felt felting, lace-making and Ebru water marbling. The festive atmosphere is created by the ethnic music ensemble "Kadim Almet" and the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, introductory master classes in the basics of Tatar dance are being held for all who wish to participate.

      In front of the entrance to the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, which is being held at the EXPOFORUM Congress and Exhibition Centre, guests are greeted by the "Tatar Courtyard" — Tatarstan's hospitality zone with shurpa prepared in a unique 1,200-liter kazan, the world's largest samovar with a 300-liter capacity, and the aroma of national traditions.
