      Previously having been held administratively liable for petty theft, a Bugulma resident committed a series of thefts and attempted thefts in local chain stores "Pyaterochka", "Magnit", "Nakhodka", "Chizhik". In addition, citizen A. committed an overt theft of merchandise from a "Magnit" store. The offenses were solved with the help of video surveillance cameras in the retail outlets.

      At the court hearing the defendant fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse.

      After examining the evidence presented, the court found the defendant's guilt in committing the charged acts proven. Taking into account the nature and degree of public danger of the crimes against property committed, their number, and the defendant's personality, the court sentenced the defendant to a custodial sentence.

      The court also granted the civil claims of the victims' representatives for compensation for the material damage caused by the crimes. The sentence has not yet entered into force.
