The owner of the Volkswagen Polo, Mars Gataullin, head of the Ak Bars Bank branch in Agryz, was returning from Naberezhnye Chelny. He was taking his sixth-grade son for the weekend, who was sitting in the passenger seat next to his father; in the back was a 17-year-old friend, an eleventh-grade student. The teenagers had been studying for a week at Boarding Lyceum No. 79 of the motor city. According to preliminary information from the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic of Tatarstan, the car violated traffic rules, entered the oncoming lane and collided with a "Valday" vehicle.
As a result of the accident, all three died at the scene from injuries incompatible with life.
The tragedy occurred at the 27th kilometer of the Pseevo–Krynda road. That is literally a few kilometers from the native village of Kichketan, where Mars Gataullin’s mother lives. He would have turned 37 on October 29.
The deceased is survived by a wife and a third-grade son. The funeral will take place in Agryz on Monday, October 13.
