Issues of corruption prevention were discussed with the contestants of the Republican "Up!" competition.

      Among the main directions of activity of state bodies to increase the effectiveness of combating corruption, as provided for by the Federal Law “On Combating Corruption,” is taking measures to attract qualified specialists to state and municipal service. In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan “On Combating Corruption in the Republic of Tatarstan,” these measures are implemented by ensuring the legality and transparency of the activities of state bodies and local self-government bodies, including during procedures for selecting candidates for state and municipal service. One of the mechanisms for conducting open procedures to select the best candidates is the Republican competition “Up!,” which since 2009 has been held annually by the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Regional Public Organization “Academy of Creative Youth of the Republic of Tatarstan.” The competition is intended to develop mechanisms for training and interning managerial personnel for bodies of state power and local self-government of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is an educational program and a system of internships that facilitate participation in competitive procedures for inclusion in the personnel reserve of the state civil service of the Republic of Tatarstan. On October 10, 2025, a representative of the Office of the Republic of Tatarstan for Anti-Corruption Policy, Alexander Lokhotskoy, took part in the program with a lecture attended by contestants who had successfully passed the previous stages. Particular attention of the participants was focused on issues of corruption prevention, the harm of its manifestations, and measures to minimize corruption risks in the life of the republic. Participants were reminded of personal responsibility for their own fate and that of their loved ones, and of the necessity of being honest and fair. The main emphasis was placed on the principal directions for implementing anti-corruption policy measures in the Republic of Tatarstan, explanations of the restrictions, requirements and obligations established for state civil and municipal employees, and the role of youth organizations in shaping a negative attitude toward corruption among the population. During the lecture, a video about corruption prevention in the republic was shown and an exchange of views was held on the effectiveness of anti-corruption educational events carried out in the republic, as well as on various approaches to minimizing corruption risks in the spheres of education, healthcare and housing and communal services.
