      The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has once again decided to postpone the execution of the sentence against the man. The decision was made on October 9. Roberson was sentenced to the death penalty after his two-year-old daughter died in 2002. The incident occurred on the night of January 31: the girl fell off the bed, the man put her back to bed and went back to sleep. In the morning he found the child unconscious — they were unable to save the girl.

      The doctor who conducted the examination found traces of injuries on the girl's head and concluded that they resulted from violence. Another expert suggested that the cause of the hemorrhages was Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS). The court agreed with these conclusions.

      However, over time pediatricians' opinions changed: they concluded that symptoms indicating SBS can arise from other causes as well. This became one of the arguments in favor of reviewing the case.

      Human rights activists, lawyers and politicians are calling for a review of the case. They were joined by Detective Brian Whorton, who testified against Roberson in 2003.
